Position: Executive Director
Organization:
The purpose of the CSAAA/CSFF is to provide leadership to the hunting, archery and shooting industry in Canada. Its efforts focus on promoting the value of hunting and shooting as heritage activities. Its members are committed to conservation, and to the safe, responsible and ethical use of their products and services.
Core job functions:
- Providing leadership, direction and guidance to the Board of Directors and general membership and the Directors of the Canadian Shooting Sports Foundation, CSSF.
- Advocating the mission of the CSAAA to all levels of government and the media. Directing and supporting the activities of the professional lobbyist of the organization who is actively involved in all federal legislation that could impact its membership’s ability to carry out normal business operations.
- Overseeing the production of four targeted newsletters each year aimed at keeping the industry informed of important legislative and business developments and communicating with other key organizations and individuals.
- Managing and developing new and existing fundraising opportunities including producing an annual trade show to provide members an opportunity to showcase new products to independent dealers and to network with leaders in the industry.
- Membership growth.
Qualifications:
- Business skills,
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role.
- Previous experience in a non-profit or industry association.
- The ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, to government agencies, industry representatives, and the media. Bilingual ability would be considered an asset though is not essential.
- An interest in and an understanding of the shooting, archery and hunting industries in Canada.
Compensation:
Base salary of $25,000 with a bonus opportunity based on performance.
