As of July 6, 2025, the Sterling Arms R9 MK1 (including models 198846-1 and 198846-2) has been officially classified as prohibited.

This change means the R9 MK1 can no longer be used, sold or transferred under regular circumstances, and businesses holding inventory of these firearms are now in a difficult position.

The CSAAA has already raised concerns with Public Safety about this unfair decision and is asking for clear direction for businesses who currently have these firearms in stock. So far, Public Safety has stated that the government has not confirmed if the R9 MK1 (or Crusader Crypto) will be included in the same program as firearms prohibited by the Order-in-Councils (OICs).

We continue to press for answers, clarity, and better communication on your behalf. We will share updates as soon as we have them.
