We want to make our members aware that Canada Post may go on strike starting May 22, 2025. While discussions between this government-owned carrier and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers are still underway, we recommend that businesses who rely on Canada Post start preparing now for possible delays or disruptions.

Many small businesses in our industry rely on Canada Post to ship firearms, parts, accessories, and other essentials. Businesses and individuals in rural and remote areas where other couriers may not operate or may have limited service depend on these services. A strike could cause serious delays, impact customers and sustenance hunters, and make it even harder to navigate an already challenging environment marked by unfair regulations and Canada’s reciprocity tariffs.

CSAAA is keeping a close eye on the situation and will keep members updated as we learn more. In the meantime, we encourage businesses to inform customers about potential delays, secure backup shipping options if possible and plan inventory and shipping schedules ahead of time.

We know how fragile the supply chain can be in our sector. CSAAA will keep members informed on this situation while we continue to push for the interests of small businesses and make sure government decision-makers understand how disruptive this could be for our industry and the communities we serve.

We encourage members to reach out with any questions or concerns they may have.
