John Mock
John Mock was the General Manager of Stoeger Canada in Oshawa, Ontario from 1983 until his passing in 2014. John was a passionate hunter, educator and advocate for the hunting and firearm industry. He was involved in many firearm and outdoor advocacy groups and generously supported numerous shooting and hunting events and programs.
As a firearm and hunting safety instructor, John saw the true value of promoting healthy growth in the community. John supported many hunting and shooting groups, organizations and programs – especially shootings events for women and children with generous monetary and product donations.
John was a valued member of many advocacy groups and dedicated years of his life to improving the industry and community. John worked with the Canadian Sporting Arms and Ammunition Association fighting for a better business environment. During John’s time on the CSAAA board, John presented a case against the firearm marking legislation in Bill C-68 in 1995.
During John’s career, he also volunteered his time with CSSF for ten years, the Canadian Shooting Sports Association for eight years as well as Ducks Unlimited, the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Safari Club International and Delta Waterfowl.
