While we always encourage people to become PAL/RPAL holders, CFP has offered direction for those that wish to withdraw their license application.
Process for withdrawal of a Possession & Acquisition Licence (new or renewal):
If the Possession & Acquisition Licence (PAL/RPAL) application (new or renewal) is still within the administrative processing stage within our Central Processing Site (and not with a Chief Firearms Officer for further review/investigation, a client may request the withdrawal of the application or a downgrade in privileges on the application (from restricted to non-restricted) and a refund or partial refund will be issued respectively.
The client must submit this request in writing by:

The written request from the client must include the:
1. client’s name;
2. client’s date of birth;
3. client’s address;
4. reason for client requesting the withdraw (or downgrade) of application.
