Knives Seized By CBSA

We have received reports of a larger volume than usual of knives being seized upon import by CBSA.

While there have been no recent changes to import regulations as it pertains to knives, CBSA has been more “diligent” with packages coming into the country that contain knives that might fit the description in the regulations.

Reminder: Decisions are up to the CBSA/Canadian Boarder Services Agent’s discretion.

Current import regulations for knives can be found HERE.

Fedex has been notably one of the most reliable service providers with orders containing knives, with minimal seizes of packages.

New Firearms Added to Prohibition List from May 2020 OIC

We encourage members to stay up to date on any new firearms that may be added to the still growing list of firearms prohibited under the May 2020 order in council.

For example, the Hunt Group VM12 shotgun classification was changed to prohibited in mid-December 2023.

You can visit armalytics.ca for updates and information on the classification status of firearms you may be trading, buying, selling or servicing.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends, family, and colleagues of master gunsmith Steve Milton.

May his legacy and craftsmanship be remembered with reverence.
